Alright guys and gals. Has anyone put this bad boy through it's paces yet? I am very interested in grabbing one of these. Pics, vids, reviews, etc... would be great. Sorry if I missed a post addressing this very issue. Thanks.

Where have you been buddy??? We have all cut, chop, and pryed with our SARQs already. JK! :D

Seriously though, the SARQ is pretty bada$$ and chops really well for its size. It will most likely outchop the NOe and then some ;) I chopped some 2X4s with mine recently and was very impressed with the performance. Not as purdy and sexy as a SFNO but sure makes up for it in performance :D

Pick one up if you don't already have one. It is my current favorite mid sized busse

Here is my baby next to a CF SARQ. Notice that it sports a smaller handle similar to the SFNO/HR:

Sorry to say, I haven't put it through any paces yet. Exploring sheath options at the moment. What I can tell you though, is that it feels unbelievable in hand.

+1 here... Maybe this weekend I'll get to wail on it a bit...

Well there you go, my current dream team. Got the blades, now I just have to be patient and wait for Ban to get to mine!

For the OP, I'll 2nd the 'feels great in hand'. Used mine to chop for about an hour over a couple of days (until I decided to fall on my sharpmaker with my right hand) and it felt really, really good. Ergonomics allow you to choke way back and maintain a solid grip; it also feels surprisingly good for more delicate tasks. Chops really well for it's size and weight. I was going to do a more thorough review before I tore my right hand up, that'll have to wait now. :grumpy:

Ouch! You stabbed your hand with one of them Triangle Rods while breaking a fall?

Oh, it wasn't just the rods, it was them and the metal 'protector' rods, the hard top plastic case.... tore 3-4 two inch gashes in my palm. This was a week ago, so I'm just about able to handle a knife again. Let the chopping commence!

Well, now you have a reason to go buy a EdgePro :D The ultimate sharpening system

I found it slices deeply more than it 'chops'. I came at this branch mostly from the right side, the chops from the left were pretty much perpendicular to the branch just to clean things up.

It's a beast for its size.

So the main strength I keep seeing here is that it "chops" pretty good. If I already had a beast of a chopper, my FFBM, why would I need a Sarsquatch?

It's really light, with a bit of a forward balance. It is thinner than my ASHLE and SFNO, but haven't mic'd it yet.

The FFBM will outchop a SARq by a wide margin. No competition.
But for lazy guys like me that want to pack a decent sized lightweight knife that can do it all....then the SARq is the ticket.

I would still pick my FABM in most cases, but the SARq is a pretty high performance knife in a compact and lightweight package.

The SARq fits into almost the same category as the NOe, ASH1, SFNO, HR, etc... Except it will outchop all of them.

Is the top one linen and the bottom is canvas?
