Lately I'm really interested in the Sarsquatch. I think it will be a perfect knife for outdoor use. It's thin, has a wide blade and the blade length is 7".
For me it would be a good hiking buddy.

But the only thing I absolutly don't like is the swedge. Personaly it doesn't has any use for me when I go out in the woods. I won't stick trees and there are not many big angry wild animals in the Netherlands.
I have done some research and found a pic of I almost know for sure a sarsquatch. But this one doesn't has the swedge. (the lower blade)

Now I emailed Garth and pm'ed Boss HOG about one without a swedge but still haven't heard anything.

Are there more without the swedge? If so could one please post some better pics of it. Thank you.

I don't like the proportion. IMO the blade is to long and not wide enough. I had a HOFSH and I loved the wide blade. Plus I don't like the rounded spine and the rounded holes.
Maybe I will buy one in the future to try out. First I want a Sarsquatch without a swedge..:D:D

well ive seen 2 modded squatches that look like that. one is an owner whos always in wilderness and survival, its a bowie squatch. looks real good. and another that looks like that one. both were modded and did not come from the shop like that. you can always buy a squatch and modd it out for yourself. by the way i just bought one and i love the way it fits in the hand. i actually think its the most comfortable of any busse i held. even the one i got from you

here ya go found it.

That bottom one looks to have a swedge that is modified and lengthened to me.
I understand your dislike for the swedge, especially since a swedge is only surpassed in tip atrocities by the clip point.:barf: That being said, I love my SSq and the swedge has not hindered it's performance in the least. I have actually grown fond of it on this blade, but I don't see it happening with any other blade.

The one on the bottom in that pic has defenitly been mooded. You can tell from the polished blade and the long swedge. The squatch is a great knife and as Fallons said it is very comfortable in the hand. Unfortunatly I dont have one anymore(Thanks Sean) but will have another one soon hopefully. And I agree with you about the swedge it really doesent serve a purpose.

I took mine and semi-sharpend the swage, make it more useable on a fire steel that way I dont have to mess up the edge.

haha thanks doby and with that i will be modding that lil piece soon. gonna make it look like that one i the bottom. a little slimmer and easier to carry.

I kind of miss the ones I had. The swedge just seemed randonly thrown into the design though. I thought at this thickness and width the absence of a swedge would have been more of a plus.

I personally agree. I too would love to have seen a version without the swedge. I think as an all round outdoor knife, even though it still works, it would of been better for battening with no swedge. I know a lot of people like it but I think that it would of looked better without it as well.

Does any one know who's knife that is in the pic I posted? Hopefully Boss HOG will release an Sarsquatch without an swedge.
