I'm the proud owner of a Large Stag Sasquatch and I'm wondering about the thickness of the Blade. It seems almost paper thin at the belly. I read somebody used one to kill a boar. I wouldn't want to put one to any serious usage, whereas a Smith Bowie looks like it could hack cinder blocks without any adverse affects. They also look like they would hard to grind without saying "Whoops, no metal left !
I don't anticipate hacking cinder blocks, but the blade looks kinda fragile. Does any one have any experience with them ? Also, do the Small Sasqutches have as radical a grind ?
Regardless, they sure are pretty.

Crunch,
I have used leather handled models of both the small and large Sas for cutting. The large one was too heavy for the the material that I was cutting but it would take a very nice edge. My small leather Sas would also take (and hold) a very nice edge. I replaced both Sas's with HI khukuris to obtain the same cutting performance with a lighter weight knife. I hope that the small Sas in my scan will show you what you are looking for. The large Sas in the next scan up has a ivory handle and I have not used it to cut anything.

Hi Crunch,

I am one of the guys who makes Randall knives and I remember a few Sasquatches a while back that were thinned down a bit too much during polishing. My advice is to use your Randall knife, of whatever model, for whatever purpose you bought it for. If it doesn't hold up send it back to the dealer you bought it from and ask for a new knife or your money back. For the money our customers spend on our knives they #!@* well deserve superior performance.

Now that is what I like to see from a company representative. It's great to know that Randall stand so well behind their knives.

Edited for spelling.
