Satchel Question

I'm thinking about getting a medium satchel. I probably shouldn't be thinking about doing that, but I am.

Anyway, does anyone out there have the medium satchel? If so, can you tell me if a water bottle actually fits in to the side pockets? I carry around a Klean Kanteen. It has a diameter of about 2.75".

I have a large satchel, not medium... I'm not sure if there is much difference in pocket size.

What size (how many ounces) is the Klean Kanteen? My 40oz bottle would be a really tight fit... I'd have to stretch the pockets out a fair amount.
 
I use either an 18 oz or 27 oz. These are the same diameter, but the 27 oz is a few inches taller. According to Kleen Kanteen's website, the 40 oz is a full inch wider than the 18 or 27. So imagine your canteen a inch slimmer. Is it still a tight fit? :)
 
It's hard to say without knowing if the pockets are the same size, but I think that would fit in the pockets of the large one without much issue.
 
I had a medium satchel. Now just a medium BC... I'd honestly tell you (for the minimally extra $), the large satchel is FAR more practical. imo.
 
I thought the medium would work for me because no way am I getting my 15" Macbook Pro in any of them. I also saw a video where they were carrying a digital SLR plus a large lens in the medium (at the time it was the large) and it looked plenty roomy enough.

Usually when I travel I carry a small shoulder bag plus a laptop briefcase. I'm thinking about the satchel for my small shoulder bag, which is still a lot larger than what I currently carry (Maxpedition Lunada).
