Satellite Receivers (Dish Network)

I have Dish Network and know little about satellite receivers. Will any receiver work with Dish Network?

I would like a High Def receiver, and would also like to record and watch a different channel which I currently can't do. (need dual tuner??)

Also, I notice some channels say "broadcasting in high def", so if I had a high def receiver, would I get it in high def? Or does it have to come high def special from Dish Network? (am i making sense?)

Your receiver ("box") has to be specific for your chosen network (i.e. DirecTV box won't work with Dish and vice versa).

I can't speak to Dish, but I have DirecTV with a HD box and on board TiVO DVR; can record and watch two different programs and the network HD programs are broadcast on the bird that way also.
