Satin an Izula?

I've seen some pretty good pics of Izulas with the coating removed. I picked one up as trade stock, but I'm tempted to keep it.

Can anyone point me to some good info on modding the Izula to satin? Thanks!

One of the Izula pics floating around here was a prototype giveaway that didn't have a coating, there is an old thread laying around here that I will try to dig up for you with some pretty good info on coating removal.

Possibly mine. It's a standard production Izula, but lacks the coating and laser engraving.

That being said I flaked the coating off of my RC-3, sanded it up to 1000 grit, and gun blued it. No reason you couldn't do something similar. I just used a paint scraper on mine, but lots of folks like using paint stripper.

Thanks. I did it forever ago so it's all scratched to hell again. Oh well! It's the way it should be! :D My main concern was corrosion under the scales, so I did multiple coats on the handle area.

Gentlemen, sorry to stir up such an impassioned theological debate. Perhaps I should have titled the thread "How do I get the black crinklecoat offa my Izzy and what would it look like?" :D:D

Great, now were talking about the mayan god of colored finishes "Crinklecoata"

ALL HAIL CRINKLECOATA!!!
