I am looking for reviews of the sj tac knife. I own a rmd and love the ergos but the handle seem a both small. It's like I run out of room and I don't have large hands. I like the sj tac because of it's .25 inches longer handle and "6" ish blade length. But this is all researched based. I am hoping some who owns one can chime in with feedback and pics.

I think a modified rodent 6 is too heavy but they look sexy as hell! The ash blades are too wide but I did almost by a trash 1!!! While I like my rmd, it's days are numbered.

The SJTAC feels just like a larger RMD. I think it is definitely worth a try. If you are willing to go up to 0.25 for other features, the Tank Buster has the same handle with optional swedge/choil/pommel choices. The more recent Axe hammer is worth a look also.

I do own many Busses, Swamp Rats, Scrap Yards, and find the SJTAC to be a nearly ideal fit for my grip. Have three already, and always looking for more. Wish more good examples would pop up for sale here. Good luck in your search...;-)

Wow, that's a heck of a video. Y'all have any ice of a sj tac next to other mid sized knives?

There's a SJTAC (Mole Jack, I think) hiding among the Badgers:

And here's a snakey Jack between the Badger and the FBM:

And here are three Jacks below three Hell Razors (and next to a pair of BATACs):

Looking at all those reminded me, if I had to choose between the SJtac and the BAtac, I'd lean towards the BAtac.

But I just prefer short wide blades. :D The BAe is my all time favorite of the bunch.

I use a sjtac with a ridiculously sharp convex edge as my main camping knife. At first I did not like the handle but after about a month i grew to love it. All of my friends that have used it have been impressed. It manages small and large knife tasks easily.

The SJTAC is a very good knife, though somehow it strikes me as more of a combat-style knife. Not so much as a TGLB, but on that end of the spectrum. But I'll admit, I am prejudiced toward the fatty ASH-1. It's my go to hell and back knife. It's not the best knife for any one thing but it's the best for everything.

It's a great in-between mid size all around knife. If you're looking for something a little bigger than the RMD but not as beefy as a tank buster and Sar 6 the SJTAC is for you. Good ergos... heavy enough for hard tasks but not too heavy.

See if you can find one of the competition finished ones, they weren't too expensive and had a great convex edge on them

Yep. It's decided. Totally going after a cg grade. Thank you all for the input and pics. The hunt is on...

Good Luck! The hunt is both frustrating and satisfying...;-)

SJTAC in the middle. SARGE7 on top with a RMD at the bottom. The SJTAC really did feel like a larger RMD.
