Ok so maybe not on top of the world, but it was pretty high in the mountains. Came in handy because like a genius I forgot to bring my walking stick which is actually quite helpful in waist deep snow!! I think the mountain goat was kind of confused to see someone so high up and invading his territory! Dog (Ike) sure loved it though being from alabama he never got to play in snow before today! Didn't quite have the time to go play on the glacier, but at least I got a few shots of it.

Crows Pass, Chugach national Forest (part of the Iditarod Trail), about 40 minutes south of anchorage. I am now red and crispy because again like the walking stick, I forgot sunscreen!!

That is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!

.

If I may ask, at what elevation were these pics taken? :)

WOW that is beautiful do you do any hunting for any kind of game in your area of course when in season THANKS again for the pics

Well I just moved up here, but went on a caribou and sheep hunt in the wrangell mountains last year. There are lots of animals, but then again there is a lot of land too, so it's not as easy as you might think unless you get a good guide who has done air reconnaisance and can put you right where the animals are. You're not allowed to hunt sheep, goat, musk ox, bear without a guide unless you're a resident which I will be in 11 more months :D

Did you get a sheep or bou, do you have pics, and what caliber did you use, I went bou hunting in 2000 in canada got 1 dink and the 2nd was double shoveled and not to bad for central barren ground sorry so long got hunting fever

Oh that's ok, yes I did but they're old style photos at my parents house, I used a .308 he was a nice double shovel. Using a remington scirocco 165 gr I believe or 168 someting like that. My dad shot a full curl ram (the only legal in alaska) after 2 hunts one I was on with him. Even when there are a lot of sheep, there still aren't a lot of them and there are even less legal rams because around the time they start becoming legal they start dying. Oh he was using a .243 nosler.

Awesome pics, I'd love to get there someday. Also, what kind of dog is Ike, he looks a little like an Aussie but I couldnt' tell.

Lagarto

Yup he's an aussie. He looks little but he already tips the scales at 64 pounds!! I think he's done growing for the most part.....
