Does anyone know if the SJTACs were offered with Mag handles?

I bought a SJTAC with Black and Tan G-10 handles at the Eugene show. I think it has Mag handles but I didn't think to get pictures before I handed it off to Brian at Okuden. The thickness feels the same as my BATAC w/ mags but not as tall. It feels a lot better in my small hands despite being a TAC handle.

I was going to post that if you need a sheath from Okuden for a SJTAC nows your chance but I don't want to steer anybody wrong by giving out bad info.

I'll see if I can get pics and post them. Until then any help would be appreciated.

**UPDATE**
Based on what Brian and Ban have said this one has Mag G-10 handles on it. If you want an Okuden sheath drop him a line soon as this one likely will not be in his hands for very long.
 
i dont recall the original offering being offered with mags except for the le.

and the tigers on the le were not much thicker than the regs, just like on the batac.
 
I don't think the standard run was offered with mags. The LE might have been. If you got it from the Eugene show, it could be anything. My SJTAC has slightly thicker steel and thinner micarta than my mag BATAC.

You bring up a good point. When I get it back I'll have to pull out the mic and compare the two. Do you find that the SJTAC feels better in the hand than the BATAC?
 
The SJTAC you picked up from Eugene definitely has MAG handles. I was fondling that one for some time before letting her go :D
 
I got a SJTAC at Knob Creek. It has a black blade with mag black and TAN slabs. The best SJTAC I've ever handled.

Also got a SJTAC with black blade and snakeskin slabs. Really nice, but no TAN on it!:p

I picked up one at the Golden Manor Hotel / Knob Creek that was muddy, but had LE tigerhide handles. I thought the ones with snakeskin were more attractive, but bought that one because it was an anomaly. You're right, they aren't a whole lot thicker than standards.

Thanks for the confirmation Ban. Brian also agrees that it has mags. Man am I glad I did pick it up again and decided to buy it. Can't wait to get it back and beat it.

I'm still chuckling about your answer Ban. Can I steal that statement? Maybe I should have Jack $#!T (the actual word not the PC characters) engraved on the blade in BOLD CAPITAL LETTERS. Then I would know it was my knife no matter who I loaned it to.
 
I am pretty sure you said you'd give that Jack to me.

You probably don't remember it with all that Rootbeer you downed...:eek:
 
I was joking about getting the blade engraved but maybe I should seriously consider it.

Where were you funny guys at yesterday? Luckily Brian had me laughing via email. Good thing to as he probelly saved somebody's life yesterday. Man did I wake up cranky. Did I mention I hate my job! This forum is a life saver.

BW have you ever seen Army of Darkness? Jack has left town.
