What is the difference between a Jack TAC and a Badger Attack TAC? I have searched in all the wrong places here on the Busse Forum. Please excuse my ignorance, but I just ordered a BA TAC and I can't tell the difference from pictures. Is there a place that has all the Busse specs?

The Satin Jack TAC had a blade length of just over 6". I has a convex primary grind.

The Badger Attack TAC has a blade length right around 5". It is flat ground.

Thickness for the Combat Grade versions of both models is about .187" thick.

The LE SJTAC was .22" thick and the LE BATAC is supposed to be a little thicker at .25"

edited to add: The Badger Attack is bound to be a little more "slicey" with it's flat grind. The convex edge on the SJTAC was pretty thick behind the edge. Jerry said he had military requests (on the SJTAC) for that kind of geometry for prying strength and things like that. You are bound to be VERY happy with the BATAC. A lot of people have posted about their wishes to have this type of grind geometry on the SJTAC... now it's available in a slightly smaller package.

I believe the BA has a shorter 5 inch blade HD. I believe that the SJ was a little over 6

Thank you so much, gentlemen. I thought the blade looked a bit longer. Is there a place that has all the specs? I checked the stickys, but maybe I missed it.

Here's the archive of the SJ TAC that gimmejr dug up for another discussion yesterday:

Gosh, Dunner, I think I'm going to just PM you with my questions from now on, instead of posting them here. You just know.

So what I wanted to know if if the blade width was wider, cuz all the other dimensions seem close, but and inch shorter. Cool to know about the grinds. I didn't realize the SJ had a convex primary. I have a new respect for it now. Does that include both CG and LE, or just LE?

Hey, thanks Damn the Man :D Feel free to shoot me a message any time by the way! Both the CG and LE SJTAC were convex ground. The SJTAC was ground convex to very near full height. I believe there was a high saber but only minimal...close to full height also. The LE was full height convex.

Here is something I think some may debate on the SJTAC convex grind. The CGSJTAC .. was ground (Convex) using Busse's new corrugated bevel technology. It was used perhaps with much smaller grinder heads or with intervals so close as to almost disappear (Unlike the Hell Razor and FBM where the corrugations are designed to stand out.). I owned one briefly and could see the marks just barely. The AK was ground this way also. Others have claimed they could not see these "corrugated" grind lines at all. They may have even given them a run over a slack belt to give them a better convex finish. Mine CGSJTAC was very nicely finished. The LE's were ground convex to a much higher level of finish of course, perhaps by hand.

Wasn't the Mole Jack version thinner behind the edge?
