Hi All, Any chance someone can take or has a picture of a Satin Jack next to a Ratmandu. Not to be too picky but if you had a CG Satin Jack that would be great.
I want one of these SJ CG's so bad.
What are you thoughts on this blade.

Thanks in advance.

I don't have a RMD, so I can't help you with a pic, but I do have a SJT. I think you will find people either love them or hate them, and those opinions are based on the handles. I love mine. It is one of the few I had a long time ago, sold, and then had to find another because I found I regretted selling the first one I had. YMMV.

I have a CG SJ and the RMD. I like them both, but the SJ just feels more balanced and not as heavy as the RMD. I guess thats because the blade is a little longer than the RMD. I'll try to get some pics up tomorrow.

Might want to clarify which SJ. The old straight handle SJ or the SJ Tac. Looks like both models, which are completely different, are being mentioned in the thread.

Sorry,,,,can't help with any comparison pics,,,, I don't own any SwampRat or ScrapYard blades,,,,,,however,,,,the SH SJ is an excellent blade, one of my favorite Busses,,,I love the handles,,,,,,, punch em through a brick wall and keep on going,,,,, Don't own any of the TAC series either,,,,,just personal preferance,,, I don't like the look of em.Here is a pic of the 3 SH SJ variations that I do own ,,,,,,,The Zero Tolerance LE on top ,,,, SH SJ CG in the middle,,,,,,and their lil brother,,,,,the Euro 4 on the bottom... All 3 are total KEEPERS ,,,,, well balanced ,,,, thick an heavy enough for most any task,,,,, but not enough to be a burden . Bottom line,,,, I LIKE EM LOTS!!!!!:thumbup:

The real differance is that, you will spend a lot more for these old school SJ's than a Ratmandu . I personally think it's worth the extra $$$$$$ .

And some more since Ronnie started it! ;) SH SJ's are my favorite too!

PorcupineMtns66 you are KILLING ME with those SJ LE pics. I have been trying to get my hands on one of those forever. Anyone that ever wants to let one go that has black grips let me know.

=MAX= if anybody were to sell me a SJ I would be glad to take a pic but all I have now is a Ratmandu.

And they ride great on the belt cross draw or straight up.

There an SJ LE in the exchange that I think was overlooked by many as it doesn't get bumped much. It's not mine and I don't mean to hijack a thread to a exchange thread but might want to take a serious gander at this; http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=652015

Yeah, I did see that but I really want on with black paper.

I figure if you're going to dish out that much cash might as well get exactly what you want.

I know, I'm picky.;)

Wow amazing pics and info guys, thanks.
I am really interested in the SJ TAC series.
Love the old ones but my bank account cries CG TAC.
I am going to buy on very soon.

many thanks

keep an eye open for the ETS SJTAC. there have been a few popping up in the exchange, and they're a bit nicer than the regular CGs. plus they say "embrace the suck" on the side, which is just pretty huggin' cool.

Thats the money shot right there

Thanks so much....I'm sold.

No problem. If you like the handles on the RMD, I would suggest looking for a SJ with the standard handle slabs. The mag handles were a little too thick for me, and the standard slabs are right around the same thickness of the RMDs. It feels great for my smaller hands.

Since this thread is apparently covering both the Satin Jack and the Satin Jack Tac, here are my SJTACs. The Comp. Finish is my favorite knife to carry, as it's a little bit thicker than my CG, even with the black finish, and it's got a nice convex edge:

This is the exact model I want in this picture.
I love it!
These pics have been great, again thanks ;)
