Satin or stonewashed?

Aside from calling the dealer...is there anyway to tell if the knife is old satin (paint) or the new stonewashed blades?

Not unless you can find out the birth date of it.

There is but I don't remember it, I want to say definitely 2007+ but its just a guess, maybe someone who's been around Emersons longer will get you an answer.

The online dealers I've seen clearly mark them stonewashed or satin finished. If you go to Newgraham they list the Commander in satin, stonewashed, and black coating.
