Decided I wanted a minimalist front pocket wallet the other day. Got to thinking about it yesterday and decided to go ahead and build it. Finished up this morning with Edge Kote and darkening the veg tan with extra virgin olive oil. This was my first try at a wallet and stamping too. I'm pretty happy and the little pocket knife sheath makes it very unique. Used 3/4 oz veg tan on the laminated together for the center and the same leather but just one layer for the inside pockets. Dark brown shark pockets on the outside. Thanks for looking!!

Wow, really cool. How did you apply the edge kote? So far I am kind of underwhelmed by the edge it produces.
That whole package of your wallet is great. Nice how things come together and the colors fit together. And as always, I dig shark skin.
What kind of knife is this?

Thank you for the very kind words! Every one gets a little better and I try to push the envelope to improve my skills. I find that edge kote is so so. Some projects need it, others I just edge slick and finish with beeswax on the buffing wheel. When I use it, I put on one layer and let it dry to the touch, usually repeat that 4 - 5 times and build up coats. I apply mine with a Q-Tip and it seems to work pretty well. Not sure if that's right or wrong but it's how I found works best for me. The knife is a Brad Zinker mini wharncliffe. Tiny and built like a Swiss watch. I was hoping to incorporate it into a wallet and at a 1/4 in thick it works well.

Neat little wallet and very well done. The knife and sheath makes it unique. I am not a proponent of Edge Coat, in fact just the opposite, but if it works for you, good. Check in a couple of months and see how the multi coats hold up to daily pocket wear. You might also consider including a little clip for $bills in the interior. See photo below. I got these from Ohio Travel Bag, but they may be available elsewhere. Just slip the little clip out of the brass holder it comes in and discard the holder.

Thank you Paul! I always appreciate your kind words and helpful insight! Yeah, I wish I'd thought of the money clip before starting. Oh well, there's always next time, right? I also came to the conclusion that a knife sheath, no matter how thin the knife is, will not work well on the inside of the wallet once it has cards in it. They just end up bending and would crack and break in short order. The only option was to flip it so the veg tan is on the outside and the shark on the inside so it sat nice and flat. It actually looks pretty good that way and is certainly very functional. Anyway, again, I appreciate it as always! The next one is going to be much better as I know what to do and what not to do now.
