Took the kids to the mountains outside of town here in Las Vegas (Mount Charleston), for couple hours of hiking(gotta keep it short with a 3yo) .Mom stayed home to catch up on some stuff and I took my daughter 3,son 5 and daughter 14 to cool down a little. Went from 105 to 78 degrees in about a 40minute drive. Decided to take the ol' Cold Steel Pocket Bushman along. Unfortunately/fortunately didn't get to use it much except for chopping up some sticks when we took a break. I have seen people say this Knife had lock problems. I have beat the hell out of this VERY inexpensive knife, for about 5 years and it doesn't have any play and I thoroughly trust it. It holds a decent edge and is a unique design. For a big foldable, utility/camping knife on the cheap it is pretty cool.

Nothing wrong with a Pocket Bushman. It is the closest thing to a fixed blade you can find in a folder. Thin pocket profile is a nice touch too.

Thanks! Yeah, its really gorgeous up there, been awhile since I been . So many great scenes I have to limit my photo taking or I find I'm holding up the expedition lol aka getting left in the dust... Couple more pics

stepping out to the trail head greeted with some lovely sunshine.

Wonderful time that you had with your kids. All you folks will remember these hikes forever..with great fun thrown in.
Happy for you...and you got cooled off besides.
Tell your wife to come along next time...she's missing out big-time.
Glad you posted. My knees won't allow me to do that any more...but I used to...at one time.

Wow, heck of a way to spend a weekend, that's for sure!!! Thanks for the great pics!

Thanks for kind words everyone, glad you like ! And yes horizon the folded metal handle can be slick. There is a nice choil in the handle but if using other grips it can be slick.

I have driven through Vegas a number of times, and looked at Mt Charleston in the distance and wondered what the higher elevations were like. Looks like a nice place.
