I thought it would be a good idea to try and sharpen my Tanker A earlier tonight - freehand. Something I've never been good at and have learned quite clearly that I am still very bad at!

The more I try, the worse it gets. :barf::barf::barf:

Are there any hogs present who'd be willing to take on a challenge and put a usable edge back on my knife?

It might have to be a convex after what I've done to this thing...

I may have to send this in to Busse but I'm really anxious about the turn around time if I were to do that.

Did you try to stone sharpen?

I can do a good Freehand edge, convex, with sandpaper and mousepad (I have a Belt sander, but mostly only use it on my other non infi, and my heavily modded SS).

With how busy I am, my turn around would be longer than Busse, That, and I would probably change my name and move to Mexico and live out my days in Tankbuster Luxury down there!

I botched up the edge on my ASH-1 about a year ago, and sent it into Busse for a once-over. I had it back in about a week.

Yeah, I have one of those double sided stones you find at the hardware store. Probably a bit too course but I like a toothy edge on my Busse knives.

For some reason I had it in my mind that sending a knife for a trip to the spa meant you might not see it again for over a year. :foot::foot::foot:

Glad that's not the case...

My badger was in the spa for 2.5 month, not bad considering any other turn around times offered by other manufacturers.

Sending it in to the shop would be my suggestion. They always purty up my uglies real good like. Well, if it's INFI anyhow.;):D

If you take time to convex it by hand, you'll always be able to sharpen it.

The sandpaper/mousepad method takes some time, but is worth it to be able to get it shaving sharp yourself. JMHO.
