If you use Firefox, there are a few addons that work great. If not, there are several websites where you paste the URL of the vid and it converts it and gives you a download link. Just Google "download youtube videos".

Most of the time they are saved as .FLV files
You need to have a FLV player to view them
Maybe Windows Media Player can play FLV's now??

Just go to http://www.kissyoutube.com , enter the address of the YouTube video, and download it as an .flv file.

I use www.keepvid.com and I also highly recommend the vlc media player (just google it). It's small, free and plays just about everything!

I use Any Video Converter which downloads YouTube vids and converts them to any format i please, all in one go. Also use the program to convert video formats and as a bohus it also extracts audio.

i used kissyoutube, and it worked well.

the videos are compatable with my ipod as well.
