I did some searching, but was unable to find an appropriate thread. So, here we are! This is a place to post your stories and pics/videos of when your Busse, or Kin, saved the day. Whether it was your only tool at the time, or if it was the only one that could handle the task. From emergencies to everyday work. Tell us your tale!
The lady and I were on our way to see a show last night when we noticed a “clicking” sound coming from one of our tires. It’s pretty common in our area to get pebbles stuck in your tread that cause such sounds. Seeing as how we had an hour drive on interstates and over bridges, I figured it was best to pull over and check it out. Just in case. Good thing I did, as there was a fairly large screw head sitting just above the tread!
Thankfully, air was not leaking too fast, so we headed to the closest automotive store to grab a patch kit. (Side note, she thought we had to go to a tire shop to get it fixed.
I tried not to laugh. She was Very skeptical, but I assured her that I had patched dozens of tires, and none of my patches have ever failed.) Then, it was on to the local car wash that offers free air. Park, ebrake, get the jack and tire iron out, and then it hits me ; my girl doesn’t have a tool box in her car! How am going to get this giant looking screw out!? Thankfully, I had my minivex with me!
From that point on, it was pretty smooth sailing, though somewhat time consuming. The only real bummer was that we were too late to make it to the show.
Not a big deal, as safety and transportation is a bit more important to me than quality entertainment.
Oh, and that big screw the screwed up our plans? Well.... Looks can be deceiving.
Edit : Forgot to mention that there is now a proper tool kit in her trunk.
