I found this gem today while out and about 😊 It’s a nickel holster 112 for $19.99. The handle had lint in it and has definitely seen some work. Maybe even dropped a couple times. The blade appeared to be original with a full factory edge. I cleaned out the lint, wiped it down, applied some oil, and sharpened it. It’s ready for a lifetime of service again! 😎 I’m curious as to when it may have been made and if anyone knows the steel. I’m assuming 420HC but I’ve been wrong before.

That's a good deal for $20! No spa service or reblade necessary!

Nice Find!

I have a couple NS 112s I bought at Walmart back in the mid-to-late 1990s timeframe. And the 'C' mark beside the '112' stamping would indeed show 1995 as the year of manufacture. The pair I have feature the same 1995 year stamp. Date chart from the Buck Knives site is linked below and I included a couple pics of mine below that. Don't remember what I paid for mine at that time - but I'm still betting you got a better deal on yours. 👌

I was trying to find out when the first regular issue NS frame 112's were made and that run was one of the first. But I thought they all had the 'Workman' pad print on the blade. Nickel silver frame 112's were very hard to find in the 90's and early 2000's and folks bragged when they finaly did find one.

My last pawn shop steal was what appeared to be a perfect 110. They wanted $5.00 for it.
Naturally I bought it even with the blade not having ANYTHING stamped on it.. Literally a blank blade but a perfect 110 blade. Was pretty strange but the price was right even it it is a fake. But in all appearances it is a 110. Unfortunately its one of the ones I cant put my hands on after we packed up and moved after the Harvey flood. There are still some tubs but no place to put anything.
I dont recall Buck ever putting out 110's with blank blades.

My best buy in a pawn, I asked the girl what that single shot breakover was. She said a .22 I was looking at it and it was a .223.
Asked what was their best price. Knocked off $25. Told her I would take it. Doing paperwork and a guy came dragging out a box for it that included a 20G barrel... Not bad for $125 I still have that combo.
Sorry for the thread drift...

I've never perused a pawn shop for Bucks. I might need to look into it. I might even try to pull off some horse trading with some of my non Buck knives. I'd love to pick up some more 300 series knives. The 309 NOS I bought about a month ago has quickly become one of my favs.

Nice find! I stop by pawn shops and antique malls when I have the opportunity. The prices are usually either sky high or very reasonable (got to know when to walk and when to talk!). I also get some real deals on tools at those places. OH

We only have one pawn shop in my town. So far I've found a couple of gems in the rough, but mostly it's stuff that either doesn't interest me or for which they want way more than I am willing to pay.
