I was helping my mother pick up some patio furniture in my Sis's truck this evening, when a shiny chrome bauble on her keyring caught my eye...

it was one of those pathetic SAK knockoffs you can find in a gas station, the one with the 3 rubber curves at the end of the scale and a wimpy, undersized corkscrew and phillips head screwdriver, it was laughably pathetic

out of morbid curiosity, i opened the blade, one side of the blade was sharp, the other, dull as a butter knife, it was wierd, it had substantial horizontal bladeplay, and the backsprings had almost *no* pressure, yet i had to use the *PLIERS* on my SwissTool to get the can opener and bottle opener open...

this piece of crap was clearly *dangerous*

i had a moral obligation to destroy this knife and replace it with a *real* SAK, can't have my Sis, a NKP using substandard tools

So, i went to my box of spare SAKs, pulled out an Explorer, put a new split-ring on it, and attached it to her keyring, now she has a real, reliable, safe tool....

and i have a new victim for my fog chamber, one i will *relish* corroding....

here's a pic of the piece of crap;

Yeck, I've seen that same knife at my local dollar store:thumbdn:
Good idea giving here a real SAK.

I hate those knives; There every where on EBay. They crap up my SAK searches with "Swiss army knife style" and "Swiss Army Knife type".
