I have to thank oldandvilyoungsmith, ive nailed a few taper tangs and missed a couple along the way, the ones i miss go into "get back to you later" box, and after reading oldandvilys post on paracord handle wraps i got back to a couple misses i had, and i must say im happy with the results, this is the first one i wrapped. I do have a question about whether or not to treat the wraps with resin or epoxy? I almost want to leave it with no coating, is therr a wax i could use instead?

Looks really nice, I like how the wrap turned out.

As for coating it, you don't have to, I just like to do it so it won't fray or wear out. I don't know what waxing the cord would do, but it would likely be rather sticky, especially in warm weather.

If you do decide to seal it with epoxy, West System is the best. (105 Resin, 207 Hardener)

I thought the reason for using paracord on the handle was to carry around a supply or cordage. Gooping it up with epoxy would negate its use for anything except a handle.

True

But I think in this case it is wrapped with gutted paracord? (unless my eyes deceive me ;))

Hopefully rick marchand will chime in... he seems to be the resident master of cord wraps haha

Helllo all, i gutted the paracord per olds tutorial, i think ill brush some epoxy on it this weekend, im gonna wrap a couple more and give em to my nephews when we go camping, my "tactical" buddies liked the wrap for sure.
