I know where there's a Randall knife for sale locally but I want to make sure I don't make a bad mistake. For starters look at this knife:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Randall-Made-Knives-Model-14-Vietnam-Era-Riveted-sheath-/200491354526?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Collectible_Knives&hash=item2eae37499e

That is basically the knife that I can buy only the sheath is black. It did have the rivits in the sheath and the knife looked identical.

How can I tell how old it is? Any pointers on what to look for? From what I've said, is $500.00 a good price? The condition is excellent.

Any advice you guys can give would be greatly appreciated. I loved the way the knife felt and how it looked.

$500 is a fair price if its a genuine Randall and the one on e-Bay looks to be genuine. As to whether its a Vietnam-era piece, I have no idea how you tell that. BTW there is a Randall sub-forum here you might have better luck if you post there.
