Ok,I know I have posted against this ,but... Today on of my customers found out that I make knives. He asked me to come out to his truck and gave me about twenty ,two foot round ,diamond saw blades. He is a concrete cutter. He had just finished up a job and was taking them to the scrap yard. They are between 3/16 and 1/4 inch thick.I am going to slice them up into 2" strips.Who knows - damascus, fillet knives,Klingon death swords? I'll test it and see what it does.A plus is that the manufacturer info is still on some.I might get the steel specs from them. If you are into scrounged steel, check with some concrete cutters. They go through these blades like beer through IG's kidneys. Not for selling knives, but may be a lot of cheap fun.

The first responce I usally hear when I tell people I make knives is "you use saw blades?" :D

What Kidneys??? I burnt them out years ago. I like keep scrap steel around, so when I have students over they can mess with it. :D
