Saw Blades

God Morning
I have a question for the Group. I have a friend that working for a Saw Blade Sharpening Company and when they have a small crack they toss them. So my question to the Group is what type of steel are the Blades usually made from and are they Knife Steel Worthy? Yes the do have the Carbide tips on the teeth.

Hi, You would have to ask the company that makes the blades what they are made from, I have found Irwin carbide tipped blades the best to use, concrete or diamond coated blades will not get hard if heat treated.
