Got in a slightly different stand location and didn't see anything early in the day. About 40 min before its too dark to shoot in woods I hit the estrus bleat can quick 3 times. Not long after a small 6 point came looking. Then I watched him rub on a tree which is why I am at this spot anyways. Cool to see what is making the small rubs :)

Then he wandered off.....and came back by following a really young doe. Yearling I believe.

I first saw him at about 50 yards through the brush. Man my heart was thumping when I saw horns. By the time he was about 30 yards I could tell he was really young. Good rack for a little guy. Small brow tines and a nice arched main beam with 1 tine.

He was anywhere from 15 yards to 60. Passed back by at 10 yards and watched him walk up and down the clearing I walk in on.

Pretty cool!

I don't normally sit real close to my trail cams, but with this particular field having the end rows harvested, I changed up a bit. I was sitting on the ground in a natual blind. The little six point is looking right at me approximately 10 yards from him. The 8 point passed by about 25 minutes later. His right side is palmated. Looking forward to tomorrow morning.

That's awesome! It's always fun to see wildlife. I saw my first big buck this year saturday while fowling. A big bruiser 8 point scoring from 125-140. The real kicker to this story is that it all took place on public land!

watched him walk up and down the clearing I walk in on.

So, what kind of footwear were you wearing? Do you use any cover scents or anti-scent sprays? Does the clearing have tall grass that may touch your clothes? I'm always real conscious about scent, and not touching (try anyhow) branches or grass with hands or clothing when I walk in. I wear tall rubber boots when possible. Always interesting to hear the experience of others.

I wear Muck Boots. Store my boots and harness and lumbar pack in a tub of pine limbs pretty much yearly. I wash my clothes in scent free wash and hang out on line for 1 day minimum. Reminds me......Been out since last nights washing!!

I shower before each sit and dress once at location area. I kick boots in dirt before I walk in and try not to touch as much as I can and cross the exact trail as little as possible.

There are scattered branches and brush all around where I hunt so you cant avoid them but so much. Store clothing in scent free bags

Sounds about right, I have lots a pines ,crunch up the needles and bag store fresh scent washed cloths.
