Lookin thru Blade mag. Saw John Greco's "Greco/Scagel."

It ..hooked.... me. I ordered one.

"Dyed in the wool ...factory knife... geek succumbs to temptation."

What next? Original Randalls? Bowies?

This is serious. I need a pill.

:)

Haha, like a month or so ago I was convinced that, you know, all I needed was one really good knife. Now two really good knives are looking good. And what about times when you need a third really good knife? Can't ignore those. Oh, and look at that custom maker over there, and that one. there goes another.

Welcome to the money abyss, hand over your account number and check your credit card information at the door :)

Oh no....not for me.... I can handle it.

Just like booze. Or cigarettes.

HEY!

A .....knife..... patch!

Am I onta sumpin here?

a "knife patch"... thats the sticky note with your "favorite maker" 's cell phone number written on it and stuck to your moniter/dash/hat/leg...

4 customs in january/feb, #5 in march...

Actually, that's called a sheath. You can now take your knife with you everywhere, no longer having to relegate it to a desk drawer or knife safe. Now, the beloved edged tool can partake of its owner's daily life, used for cutting chores, chopping duties, ogling and showing, and general prepared bliss. Yes, the knife patch, aka sheath, enables its bearer to be happily accompanied by the knife of the owner's choice. :D

Lavan,
there all kinds of price ranges for custom knives.
Actually, I believe what you have would more be called a handmade knife,
when you order one to specs YOU want, then it's really a custom made just for you, and you'll really, really be hooked

Walking Man...

It ....could....be "custom." When I called John Greco, he asked me all sorts of questions. While these Greco Scagels have already BEEN made and are just waiting for the end of the supply, he wanted to know the size of my hand, what color spacers I preferred, gold or silver metal disc inlays, and length of handle.

That way he can choose one that fits my info as close as possible.

Seemed to be a very nice guy. A friend of mine has some of his knives and they are real workhorses. But when I saw the picture of that stag/spacer sucker in Blade, I hadda have one.

Will post a pic when it arrives.

:)

Lavan - good luck on your new custom purchase. Yes, there are a lot of affordable customs - sometimes I see improved productions going for similar or equal to the cost of some customs. Example - I recently got a Hayes Hornet that I am liking a lot for $175.00. I am not sure if Strider is considered customs when it's not done by the two owners, but a recent purchase of a WP (small fixed blade model) is in my pocket right now - again $175.00. - S30V, Paul Bos, the works.
