I was at a gunshow in Springfield, IL over the weekend. One of the knife dealers had a new in the package Camillus ROBO folder knife that looked a little odd. AUS-8 steel and made in Taiwan. Handles were a textured OD Green color. Back of the package was marked Acme.

Can't say anything about the workmanship or sharpness as the knife was in a shrink package and the dealer wanted $50 for it.

I am sure there will be a lot more of them coming.

It is unfortunate that Camillus went under, but it would be nice to see some of the models again.

The CUDA line was pretty decent there for a time.

I have some Remington folders in my collection which I believe were made by Camillus and am real happy with their quality - pity they couldn't stay afloat. It'll be interesting to compare the quality of the original USA made Camillus and the current offerings from the new owners of the name. I believe that the original Camillus started sourcing some of its knives from Taiwan just before they folded (I have unbranded Darrel Ralph designed CUDA's - folder and neck knife), but don't know if any made it to market.

I have many, many Camillus knives (am VERY glad I have several "Air Force survival knives" exactly the knife I carried in the USCG) and will not part with a one. I miss them too.

My first knife was a Camillus, I too want to see how these new ones hold up. They have rather big shoes to fill there.
