This is the knife I was hoping to finish up Wednesday but after stabbing myself in the hand it slowed me down a couple days. I forged the blade out of a piece of steel that came out of a 38" lumbermill saw blade. The blade is 11" long. The handle is elk stag and ironwood with a large S guard out of 1018 and a WI spacer.

Beautiful as always Mr. Richard! I hope someday I can do work as nice. Also really glad to see you didn't let that little poke in the hand keep you down!

I know its easy for me to say, but a knife that beautiful is worth a little blood.
Heal quick ray. Hey at least you know your reflexes are good  If that knife was a beer it wouldnt have spilled :D

Still new here but somehow I was picturing something differernt when you mentioned "hand sharpened"????:D

Nice as always. I like the fit and finish. Everything goes together so well.

Love it's looks.
Any stitches?

Did you heat treat it? I made a blade out of a sawmill blade a while back, but didn't treat it. It's pretty easy to sharpen, which means it's quick to dull too.:( (gave it to a friend).

After that, I've stayed away from sawmill blades.
