The blade for this knife came from a large batch of forgings I did a couple months ago. Just wish I could figure out which saw steel it was.... The blade is 4 3/4" with a total length of 10 1/4". The handle is another deer shin bone....

Lookin Good Ray, is that leg bone from the deer that tried to cross the road in front of you a while back. :D I 've got some good leg bones but they all seem to have hair line cracks in them, is that normal?

Bill

Bill, Last fall I made at least a half dozen trips to a game processing shop near by. I got a bunch of bone and didn't see any bone with cracks. No road kill. Can't understand why the ones you have seen had cracks in them.

Ray,
You keep turning out some super looking knives. How long are you letting the bones dry for?

Truck, The bone on this knife was done a year ago. I did put a number of my bones in mixture of polyurathane in a vacuum jar after a month of drying out. I've got a bunch of bones I have still soaking in water that I plan on putting on the roof of the shop to dry out this summer. I'm still experimenting with the bone.

The more I look at your work, the better it gets. Excellent lines.

James.

P.S. Mr. Richard, I sent you an email a week or so ago. Wanted to ask if it got there, since I was having some reliability issues around that time.

J.

James, no I didn't get an email from you. Just tried to send you one but no access to your email. You can reach me threw my web page...
