Just a quick question for all you Busseheads. I'm new to the breed, but am seriously thinking of picking up some Busses and Swamprats this year. I meant to several months ago, but then I had to go and spend the money on something stupid, rent I think, or maybe food. Anyhow, I like the new NARK, and I was curious if Busse has or will ever produce a knife with a true sawback. Thanks for the info.

If I remember correctly some of Jerry's early pieces (custom pieces) had sawbacks, not the kind you find on the cheap "rambo" knives but real working saws. I think they had a set in the teeth and everything. There is a picture of one of them in one of my old magazines. I asked Jerry at one time what the name of it was and he just said it was an early camp knife.

Okay thatMGuy, you've got me drooling. What is it, and is that an actual saw, or are they just really big serrations. Either way that's one cool SOB (Son of a Busse).

It is an Active Duty variant.

The spine grinds will make short work out of rope cutting, sinew, or anything else stringy. Not sure if there are pics that show the spine better.

NOTE: There are a few on badmojo.tv, under VARIANTS 2. Shows a few pieces with similar spine serrations. The spine is taken down essentially to a sharpened edge, then the serration grinds are applied.

Thanks man, short on cash until the end of the month, so that'll have to hold me over until then. However, by the 30th I hope to have a Busse lined up. Will let ya'll know when the order actually goes through.

While there are several Busses with Serrated spines I think that some of them (in the past) were made to actually "saw" through some materials. I've never seen them personally but I have heard stories about them.
