Sawblade hardness??

Hi guys...i know this question has probably been asked a thousand times...but what is the approximate hardness of (OLD) carbon saw blades???...with thanks.....FES

I have found that they aren't all that hard. I have made all my knives from saw blade and have had to heat treat them all. I can tell you hough that if its a big blade there's a good chance its L6 and if it is, it'll get harder than belief when you heat treat it. I temper my big stuff at 425 for an hour and a half, twice. When they're done, a diamond stone still has a hard time touching them. Shock resistance is awesome as well.
