My current collection of Scott Sawby folders...

Toothpick in Blackwood with pearl escutcheon on each side, and a Robin with 5 piece inlay, each side....fossil ivory in center, pearls around.

He is one of the best folder makers ever....developed the Self-Lock and Button Lock on his own, very unique mechanisms, exceptional craftsmanship....they are integrals, that is, the frame of the knife is machined out of one block of stainless steel...in the case of the inlays on the Robin, this is extremely difficult....so much room for disaster.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Very nice....I've got a MOP Toothpick and a couple CU's....wonderful folders.

barcbsa... What a wonderful, and focused, selection of Sawby's... That is impressive...

Steven and I just recently exchange an email discussing his Sawby toothpick... Seeing it here, I know why he spoke so highly of it... Blackwood, mirror polishing, and a pearl shield inlay is so sleek looking....

(I remember being a little kid, and my dad letting me pick out a Case slip joint from the display case as a gift for my Grandfather.. It was a "toothpick"... He's been gone since the mid 60's but Grandma gave me that knife back years later not knowing it's history... It was just sitting in a desk drawer and I still have it...)

Anyway, La Hire and barcbsa, and S.G. thanks for showing your knives by Scott... Best Regards, Rich Slaughter

Though I seldom collect folders, I always stop and check out any Sawby toothpick I see. I just love that model of his, and the Tern - and several more. When you reach a certain level of quality, it's kinda hard to surpass it - and his are there.

Thanks for sharing pictures of your knives with us here. I have had the pleasure to speak with Scott and his wife Marian at several shows. Lovely people.

I have a few I can show... Ken, I was told by Kelly Carlson once what fine maker and person Scott Sawby was... His wife's progress with her engraving has been especially impressive to me... Also, not many makers have patented locking systems, as was mentioned by S.G...

Here's a "Tern" model, as mentioned by B. Betzner... This knife by the way came via Kelly C. RIP...

This is a "Kittiwake" model, and it happened to come from Knifeologist, who posted earlier in this thread.. Tim George did the Koi engraving...

Lastly, the five piece self lock dagger model... So clean looking...

I've got a few of Scott's knives and they are some of the best I've owned. The Toothpick is by far the sexiest knife I've seen, the lines are superb! I owned a couple but sold them to fund other knives.
