Sawcut delrin handled honesteel?

I wonder how secure it is with only one rivet holding the handle to the steel? You could just as easily make your own using a Schrade sharpening steel with a longer handle and have a folding version of this, but why bother?

If it was a sample, I can readily see why it was a dud.

The seller is honest about his listings from what I have seen and read. I've bought from him from the same sample box and was satisfied with what I got. I just made up my own mind about what the knife was and what it was worth to me with the sample notes intact. This honesteel may well have been a case of "what if we try this..." and then "well, that sux...".

Codger, I've bought from the same seller too and he has always been honest to a fault. If he says they came from a box marked Samples, I believe him.

Ditto, Codger & Redshanks. I have bought from Dennis (the seller) before and found him as you say, "honest to a fault."

I expect that there were a lot of things at Schrade that were the result of a creative worker saying. "What if.....?" And a new item was born, or at least another item for the some day sample bin.

Actually, $32.99 was the last MSRP for the Honesteel. I saw one this week at a True Value Hardware store for $31.99. A guy could get a real oddity for the same price as the regular item. Hummmm......I may have to think about this. :D
After thinking for a moment I think I will pass too........I rarely use steels.
