Sawing Slices From A Mosaic Loaf

you should probably put this in the knifemaker's section, probably get a quicker correct response
 
I tac weld my loaves to a piece of strap iron a little wider and longer than the loaf. Sometimes I tac weld a loaf to each end of the strap. I then do a semi-spheriod anneal, 1250 for a half hour and let cool in the kiln. If you don't do this process the weld material can ruin a bandsaw blade. It also makes cutting more uniform and more easily clamped.
