Here is one I forged from a piece of one of those old sawmill blades. I heat treated it like I do my 1084 and it worked out great.

Macasar Ebony Handle
Buffalo Horn and Nickel Silver Spacers
Stainless Guard
OAL - 9 1/4"
Blade Tip to Guard - 4 3/4"

Thanks for looking........... Robert

Robert, I really like that knife.
Is this similar to to your old "agricultural steel"?

There's going to be one happy owner of that there knife.

As good as a knife can be is my IMO :)

Extra-nice knife!!! I appreciate makers who use known metals only, and understand why, but I especially appreciate makers who can craft a masterpiece like that from old stuff. Thanks for the pics. 47

Yes, it is similar. Most of my "forged" knives are made from 1084, 1065, or 5160, however, I enjoy making a few from "recycled" stuff.

I really make these for practice at the anvil. If they come out, then so be it. If they don't, I simply say...... "Well, that saw blade will never make another cut". :)
