Just a size comparison between the back up gear and the gear for regular use :

OK , I do admit , my income is limited and Im building this on the cheap .. no fancy gear here .

Putting it together tho did get me wondering

I see a surprising number of youtube experts pitting the wire saw against folding saws , in " head to head" type comparisons .. using the wire saws kinda wrong and way way heavy handed

Why cant I find people who put back up mini blade type knives against regular mora or bigger sized knives in the same kind of comparison ? Not even using the mini blades wrong and heavy handed ... or even working around the light duty limits of the tool ..

Is it not all survival gear , and isnt it fair to be comparing last ditch ultra light survival gear against heavier duty regular every day use gear to see what is the better quality / design value for money and best to have in a mini kit in case of actually having to rely on it ?

My deep thought for the day ..

Yes, that would be a good idea.
I wonder what people expect from their mini survival items. Mostly, I can't believe they will perform anything like the gear they are supposed to replace.

I agree with ya Myal, I miss those camping trips and the smells of the forrests as ell as the sounds at night. If I could still go camping my SRK would be there on my belt along with some other items of interest. I don't have a wire saw anymore, everytime I moved I've lost many items and that's one that I lost. But what ya showed there should be just fine for the areas where y'all camp at.
