Any thoughts on which would make the better combination, the Sawvivor with a BK2 or with a BK7?
If one uses the Sawvivor for cutting wood and only needs a knife for splitting/batoning I'm thinking the BK2 might be a little more manageable for general camp tasks.

Oh, Sawivor + BK2 combo.

Oh yeah.

...or just take the Niner LOL

I dunno, I like both. I honestly cant say which I would prefer. I would likely just grab one or the other, or take the 7 one trip and the 2 the next.

I DO know I kinda prefer the KaBar Gen1 BK2 to the Gen2 BK2.

I think a good folding Bucksaw plus any large Becker is a winning combo.

Since all the large Beckers weigh about 12 to 17 ounces I just go with the most capable and versatile which I believe to be the BK-9.

And as to the saw itself, I would forget the Sawvivior and get a Bob Dustrude Quick buck saw. It's a superior saw ,IMHO.

The BK 2 and the sawvivor is a great combo. That was my go to setup for last summer. I do like the BK 7 but with the saw and the BK 2 there isn't much that wont get done. Add a BK 11 or 14 or even a Mora and your setup is even more versatile.
