SAX, anyone?

I am interested in finding a reproduction Viking SAX. I have not found anyone that is making these in the traditional way, hammer forging/ pattern welding.
Have any of our members made such a blade? The link below has information on the style and making of a SAX.

Before there were Bowies they had SAX. I like them and have made a few as small as a 6 inch blade, up to an 18 inch blade and a few between. Jake Powning has a real nice one on his website.

A number of guys like to make those. One name that comes to mind immediately is Owen Bush in the UK.

There is an article in the March 2010 TK about Michael Pikula and the seax he hand forges. Pretty traditional patterns.

Koyote makes these I believe. He calls it a seax. Don't know how "traditional" it is, but they look nice.

my thanks to all. I will do some looking around at those maker's info.

I am as much interested in the SAX being made in the traditional manner, as I am in the blade shape and size.
