It came! It came! GOD, I am such a fanboy geek!

I am now officially the new (and ONLY) owner of green-T SOCFK #035.

Oh, this knife feels good! I didn't realize that the Specwar body would be this comfortable in the hand!Hee hee. I can't stop playing with it.

The sad (sorta) thing is, I'm sending it off to Kevin real soon (as soon as my skull clip shows up from Ernie) for customization. Now that I have the knife, I almost don't want to send it off again! LOL

Of course, the only slight downside is I can't get the wave to work - I'm sure it's just practice practice practice. Of course, help from the Suspects is always appreciated.

I can't figure out if it's a straight upward draw out of the pocket, or if you have to drag the top of the knife against the back of the pocket...

On a "good for Ernie" note, I can happily report no QC problems. The blade is centered, it's tight as a drum, the lock is slightly to the left of center, and all the screws have their color intact.

I don't know if Sniper wants a pic for his list, since it isn't a custom, but I'll gladly scan one or two if John'll post 'em. Maybe we can do a before and after gallery. I'll do some "pre customizing" scans now, and "post" ones when it gets back.

Thanks for incouraging my behavior, guys. I LOVE this knife!

Yeah, the movement is a kind of draggin against the edge of the pocket. Mine was perfect as well

The fit and everything is much better than my commander.. I like how the G10 is fit with the liner and everything.. even the screws are better than my commander's. I suppose I got those defective screws with my commander.

Nice knife, the only thing that bothers me is I'd rather have a plain edge or the blade be a little longer so I can have more usable plain blade. No biggie though, good stuff. It was a little stiff like my commander was when I got it but I'm sure it'll loosen up nicely. I have some white lightning in my commander... anyone else use it? It's a ok product. Nothing outstanding, it works ok.

Can't wait till xmas now.

I just remembered another post where I'd say it'd be cool if Emerson came out with a >4" blade.. it would be even cooler if it were a plain blade tanto socfk with a 4" blade. Or maybe they'd just make another knife that blew the SOCFK out of the water, I wouldn't mind

Surefire Wave Activation.

Everyone that ever had a problem with opening a Commander, this always worked and they adopted the "Tech."

The knife has to be dragged out horizontally. You need some pressure. Take it easy though on the rearward speed, hard on the pockets and the knife. You will get the hang of it very soon.

The "Index" I use and teach people is to curl your index finger around the end of the pocket clip. This not only gives you a muscle memory index, it acts as an anchor for your draw so your hand never slips. The feeling would almost be like the end of the pocket clip that curves upward, is almost like a trigger with your fingertip curled "around" it.

Give it a try. No one has failed yet with it. Then we can teach you how to put it in your other pocket and draw it in reverse grip!

Son of a... it WORKS! Don, you're a GENIUS!

That whole index finger curl thingee was what did it. My first few draws were 3/4 openers, but the last few have locked home nicely - I can tell this is going to be hell on my pockets, though.

I guess the wave is a "jeans only" type of of device. I'd SHRED a suit (or dress pants) if I tried using it with them. Well, I guess that's what the thumb button's for.

Thanks for the help!!!

Hard on pants? I haven't seen any wear on mine. Mostly BDUs. I've only been accustomed to the wave for 3 months though.

I still want one of those kydex knife/belt sheaths. Don't know what ever came of those, oh well.

Other pocket in reverse grip? Which pocket
smile.gif

I can do reverse grip fine on my right pocket ( I'm right handed ) utilizing the wave. Not sure how you mean by the other pocket.

Oh yeah,.. I'm pretty violent with opening my commander via the wave.. a pretty audible snap is heard when I do it. The only part of the blade that's worn is where the wave catches my pocket. Only slightly on the crest of the wave. No wear on my pockets.

Well, BDUs are pretty tough - as are my Levis. As for a pair of suit pants, or khakis, we'll see.

Got "bit" for the first time last night. Practicing my draws, and I had my middle finger in the way. I have a nice groove on the pad now, thanks to the point of the SOCFK. Like they say, you can't make an omelette without breaking some eggs.
