Don't remember if I posted it here, but one of my favorite knives is the Bose Wharncliffe shadow pattern trapper. It has no metal bolster, and black micarta handles. As trouble free as a slip joint can be. It has always been made in a 3.5 inch closed size...and not too many made in recent years according to Reese. Usually made in either D-2 or 440V, blade is left ground, not polished. A relatively affordable user custom...if you can find one.

The little one is a brand new 3.25 inch version. First and only one in existence. serial #4. The steel is ATS-34, ground finish. Reese would have made it in 440V, but it doesn't come in the correct thickness. Thought you'd enjoy seeing it.

One more. This time, a pair of 3.5 inch; one by Reese in 440V and an old one in D-2 by Tony Bose.

It would be nice if the "Bose team" could make a limited serie of several patterns in this line of finish (a Bose utility / éco concept ?).

That's a great idea. Kind of like this one in old burgundy micarta? (This one actually has hand-rubbed ATS-34 blades, which adds a lot of labor over the ground finish) How about a mid-tech Bose line?

YES , Yes and yes ( did I say "yes" ?).

wonderful knives, truly working beauties !

Don't you think "Case-Bose" ( the 2 trappers , Yukon...) knives are some kind of mid tech ?

Thanks for sharing the pictures !!!!!

Beautiful knives!! I really like the Wharnnie blades.
I can't even look at a trapper with a spey blade after having these. I know the spey blade is more traditional, but...

BTW, I've heard that Tony Bose was the first knifemaker to put a wharncliffe blade in a trapper.
