This is my new EKA Swede 9 with wooden handles. It´s the first folder from EKA with thumbstuds. It´s one-hand-opening but two-hand-closing. The lock release is the big lanyard-hole at the back. The steel is that lovely Sandvik 12C27 wich I can get horrible sharp after five minutes with the Sharpmaker. Bladelenght is 90 mm. Nice and sturdy! Cheers!

That is really slick. I have a plain old, boring Swede 8 that never sees any use, but a thumb stud would be a game changer for sure.

I have wanted one of those since I first saw it, very cool knife! I love wood gripped knives. Probably wouldn't be hard to make a way to close it one handed.

I close Swede 9 one-handed. I hold the knife in the middle of my hand with my index finger resting on the blade by the studs and the unlocking tang ring on the heel of my hand. I press the handle into my hand with my 3 bottom fingers, the exposed tang hits the heel of my hand and the finger on the blade pushes the blade forward until it is unlocked. It's easier to do than describe.

It captures that BM940 look on a fast first glance. Very nice.

Exactly my thought on first glance.
Nice to see yet another knife I know zero about.
Thank you for posting and for the great photos.
PS: oops almost forgot :
Hello– EKA Swede 9

I was thinking a Benchmade 810 more than a 940.
Still, a nice looking knife. Congrats.

Hello Slowstarter

I have one of those models - in G10 black carbon fibre .
Yes its an upgrade to my Swede 8.
Lovely shaped blade , dual thumb studs , and its a locker.
Good steel also.
Yes it takes an edge with my Sharpmaker.
A lovely purchase.
I managed to get mine from UK , at a store that was getting rid of stock..
A bargain.

It's actually against the rules (you know, the ones you agreed to when you signed up?) to raise an old thread from the dead. It is called thread necromancy.

Plus, your post has/had enough merit for its own thread.

How it should have gone down was:
1) You create a new thread with a link to this thread.
2) In your new thread, you give your tip on how you close the knife and ask if anyone else closes this knife similarly.
3) Discussion progresses down a new path, while broadening the scope of the posts on the forum.
4) This allows you to Not necropost, and build a more positive post library.
