Good Evening BF!

I have enjoyed a few months of silently sitting behind the screen and salivating over pictures, laughing over comments and conversations, and learning tips and tricks for modifying my knives and adding to my collection. I am someone who is typically hesitant when it comes to joining online forums, mostly because it is hard to find an online community that has civil discussions. There is nothing that makes me move on from a website quicker than reading people who spend their time and energy throwing harsh words back and forth- not interested! So, this is a "hats-off" to the members and admins of this forum who keep great discussions running.

I'm an East Coast guy who got my first SAK when I was a kid and a boyscout (probably like many others) and the addiction has only grown since then. You guys have not helped this AT ALL and I expect it to continue. Most recently, while reading through BF, I ended up investing in a Blind Horse Bushcrafter...and I love it. Thanks for that. Got to use it the other day once I could get some time off of work...

Next on my list is something from the Kabar Becker line...BK2, 7, 9...etc. I've loved these knives for a while but have to pace myself...I suppose I'll have to join the "Fans of Beckers" group once I get one!

This is all to say that I've enjoyed following BF for a while and am happy to join the group. Lastly, I am a photographer and graphic designer, so I'm always happy to talk about working together, trading services, etc.

Much to say, but I'll save it for the forums. I look forward to "meeting" many of you.

PS: that's my little boy Eli in the avatar- born on the 4th of July!

Welcome! Glad to see new positive people join BF! I've been a member here since 1999 but have changed my username a couple times, for technological reasons. Enjoy your new Blind Horse, I originally thought it was a Bark River, (on my phone can't see). I hope you enjoy it here. Again welcome and enjoy the addiction!

Welcome to Blade Forums! Can I get you anything? Coffee? Tea? Haha, hope to hear from you more!

Welcome to THE FORUM of all forums! ;) I find myself as you will coming here to relax and enjoy looking at the blades. :)

Welcome to the forums!

If you have any questions about the Becker knives, feel free to wander into the Becker subforum. We're generally friendly (although snarky) folks, and always happy to help out another future Beckerhead.

If it helps, my favorite Beckers are the 9, 10, 16, and 11/14. I'd go for a 9 first though.

Also, I'd just like to say thank you for being one of those members who starts by reading, rather than shooting your mouth off. Good to have you!

@CPMSTEEL- I love the O1 steel on the Blind Horse I have...I haven't quite "abused" it yet...but I've put it to work and it has done a fantastic job thus far.

@XwafflesX - Coffee. Black. Thanks!

@vwb563 - The photos are one of the best parts...I suspect they never get old. Could be why I'm a photographer!

@crimsonfalcon07 - I have spent a lot of time surfing the Becker sub-forum, I suspect I'll start chiming in there a bit more now. I'm glad that you're suggesting the BK9...I already have some 3-4 inch blades and could use a chopper/generally LARGE knife. I was pitting it up against the RTAK II but am pretty sure I'll go Becker on this one. Of course, at this point everybody shouts "Junglas!" but I'm on a budget and from what I can tell, the BK9 can take a hell of a beating.

May I just say I'm terribly looking forward to seeing some pictures of your soon-to-be received 9 with your photographic skills.

The 9 is great. It's surprisingly light, but does a good job at chopping, even up against powerhouses like the Tramontina or Junglas (or, evidently, the new Condor Warlock), but can also do a pretty good job at tasks for a smaller knife. Of course, I'd probably grab an HI Khukuri first, but the BK9 might very well be my favorite Becker. That's a really tough question though.
