I couldn't find another place to say hello, so please move this post if I goofed. I made a few knives 30+ years ago. No blades, just handles. I really never considered myself a knife-maker.

I am closing my studio of 28 years and moving everything home. Much of the equipment can be cross purposed for knife making. I have a blade design in mind. I have ordered 1084 and 1095 annealed steel. I have a pattern in mind for a 10" knife. And...I need the name of a good twelve step program...I'm addicted.

Now if I could only get this computer and interwebby thing down, I would be set to go...:)

At my young age, I won't have time to develop the skills I want to have, so I am going to a master. I will be taking the August class with Gill Hibben.

This seems to be a great, friendly place and I look forward to gleaning much information...and contributing what I can.

Hello, welcome to BFC! Lots of good folk here, loads of pics and information. Enjoy!

Welcome. Pull up a chair and sit back and enjoy the ride. As AKC said, there is wealth of knowledge here and a lot of people that enjoy blades and the lifestyle that goes with them.
