Hey guys,

i have a question for any of the Sayoc guys out there. what type of blades do you guys uses to mirror your training blades? are there official Sayoc live blades????i i was just wondering what you guys might use to train any live target training.

Hello,

EDC for each Sayoc Kali practitioner is different. Some prefer folders, some fixed blades or a mix of both. Sayoc Kali does not advocate any one style or particular model or maker of blades. Practitioners, train with a variety of blade types to enhance the ability to "use anything at hand" .

I hope this helps answer your question.

For EDC, I carry a Strider SMF, I have training and live versions of my Strider AR.

As for my Sayoc training blades, I have no exact live replicas. The position of my Sayoc trainers on my rig are more important to me then having live replicas of my trainers.

I was going to ask that very same thing. I suppose the best thing to do would be to get the real blades you want, make, or have someone make, a trainer to match, so that both the live blade and trainer sit the same in the rig. I make trainers for the blades I use but have not moved up to the level of making a sheath to match. That's my next project. Good question and answers.

Actually, to my mind the big problem with making a good trainer to mimic a live blade is getting the trainer to have the same balance and feel in the hand.

For me, as long as the length is the same, the balance being similar is more important than the shape of the blade being similar.

thanks for the info guys!! i am very grateful.

hey have any of you seen the new Sayoc Karambit DVD? I have it. Its wicked. on the cover of the box is a sweet looking karambit. i'd love to know who is making that piece. i also noticed that one of the instructors on the DVD is using a training version of it. so it must be a real design. wicked, wicked and more wicked!! great DVD!!!
