No, not that I would see, the axe was designed for fighting, and that front spike is designed for penetration, and slashing. A guy here, edwood, used his on a kevlar vest, penetrated all the way through.
It hasn't been done in quite a while, the last time it might have happened was in the 1970s, and it had been outlawed for a while I think.
