SBMF - I am impressed!

I just got one of the Desert Tan handled SBMFs and I have to admit I am impressed. I have had a couple of other liner locks from Buck in the past with relatively spottly QC (ie the liner was around 95% + to the opposite side.) but this one locks up great.

I didn't think the ergos of the SBMF woudl suit me... but it fits really nicely. Very grippy zytel scales.

Of course the inside edges of the liners and the lock bar are a bit sharp to the touch, but nothing a few minutes with sandpaper can't fix. The liners are a really strange colour though... is that from laser cuttting? (not polished)

Overall a LOT of knife for the money - kudos to Buck and Strider on this one. I'll probably buy the G10 version when they come out with plain edge!!

2 mins on a dremel to reduce the lock bar "teeth" has greatly improved the comfort and 5 mins on the inside edges of the liners with sandpaper makes it so much nicer.

All I need now is a bead blasted clip to replace the black oxide one... (don't want to refinish the black clip as I'll keep it for a G10 version one day)

I may try that, that's my only complaint, it's actually painfull to close this one because the liner lock is so stiff and the teath are a bit obnoxious.

If you dremel the liner teeth down it does make it much harder to close, but to me it's a small sacrifice for comfort - and it further reduces the chance of inadvertent lock release.

Stiff liner locks feel safer!
