i was just wondering if it is legal to carry an "assisted-open" knife in south carolina or north carolina. i live right on the border of the two states so i go to both states regularly and dont want to get in any trouble. thanks

I'm not really answering your question, but growing up on the north side of the border, I know you can't purchase switchblades in NC. Now living south of the border, I did purchase a switchblade in SC at a dealer near Charleston and have regularly seen them on sale at gun shows.

alright, thanks. i guess ill be more careful about carrying it around in NC, thanks a lot!

I live in SC (Greenville) and I have been trying to figure out what the carry laws in my state are for switchblades and manual openers. I've seen conflicting reports on a couple of other sites about knife law for the 50 states and the actual law as it is written was as good as chinese for all the sense I could make of it. Does anyone know for sure what the law is here regarding autos and manuals (open/concealed, length, etc)?

Thanks,
David
