I am thinning out my knife collection prior to deploying back to Iraq in August and need some value and collector info on two older Schrade knives. I have 2mint SC504 and SC507 lockback folders. Both have aged ivory micarta(?) scales. I purchased both of these in 1993. Both tangs are marked with Schrade+, USA, and the model #s. The 507 has brass bolsters and liners and the 504 seems to have nickle bolsters and brass liners. The 507 has a plain white box with the model # stamped on each end, but no Schrade logo or anything, so may not be the orriginal box. The 504 I purchased without the box. Any help would be appreciated. Also, if anyone is interested in these knives, please e-mail me.

The "SC" knives were typically scrimshaws. I take it from your desciption there is no pattern scrimshawed on the scales? That's not uncommon, just curious. From my general observation, the plain don't bring quite as much money as those with scrim patterns, but someone with more knowledge may chime in with some different information.

Also, what pattern is the SC504 taken from. Any idea? I'm not familiar with the SC504. The SC507 is from the LB7.

Colt, Your 504SC is likely a yellow micarta handle 51OT also known as the Big Timer or Sunfish pattern. Very large Folder. Does it have the 2 Stags fighting? The 51OT is a very popular collector in itself and the SC504 is even more sought after because it is scarce with minimal production numbers.I've seen them go for up to $100 new with white box and bling. Without box $75 to $95.
You can see some SC504's with and without scrim on my corner Larry H. Schrades R Us on pages 5 & 6 if you're interested and see if same as yours. Hoo Roo

I don't know about the 504 or the 507, but I do know about war. You be careful over there. And, thank you for serving!!
