I have been trying to interest my wife in nice knives for some time now.
Another maker promised her a special kitchen knife made just for her then proceeded to break promise after promise and never produced the knife. My wifes feelings were hurt and she began to lose interest. I was furious!

Stu Barker SAVED THE DAY. He made this for my wife. Blade about 3 and 3/4 inches long, Ivory micarta handles with mosaic pins. Convex blade. Carbon steel.

Thanks Stu!! :D

Your wife got herself what looks to be a good knife for multiple chores around the kitchen. Has she had the chance to use it yet. If so, what are her thoughts?

Keith

It just came in today. She has held it and finds the smallish handle to be in her words "warm and soft feeling". She feels confident she will not let her fingers slip up onto the blade and looks forward to cutting with it.

The important part and this may seem strange is that it was made FOR her.
She is very taken with the idea of having a knife made for her by a craftsman in another country.

Thanks for asking
Jim

That's a nice kitchen utility, Justabuyer. Sorry to read that the day needed saving. Sometimes, it's hard not to hope that when God closed one window, that it caught the fingers of an a-hole before he opened a door.

OK here it is after some good kitchen use with a nice patina. Note the cool looking edge polish on the convex after a quick strop.
