I have always struggled to make anything look traditional, but I think I got pretty close this time. I was hoping it would turn out a Scagel shape, but ended up doing the handles like a so-called-Barlow pattern.

Specs - 2-3/4inch blade and backspring of O1 carbon steel. 1200grit satin hand rubbed finish. (Does anyone know how painful it is to hand rub anything with broken ribs... :p :D ) 0.040thickness 410stainless liners. There is a little bit of hammer peined finish on the ricasso, but it doesn't show up in the photos. The handles are jigged burgundy linen Micarta.

What do you guys think ? Jason.

Jason,

Very Nice!!

Looks reminisent of a barlow, with a bit of modern tuning,
Great size blade too.

Cheers
Mitch

That is pretty neat, I like the blade holes and the straightforward clip point. Looks very useful.

beyond the fact that it looks really useable, I love the holes. Nail nicks aren't for everybody.

Nice job Jason, I am really digging your work. Your name is on my list of makers to get, this list is getting long.....nice web site too. :)
