Thanks for looking

Real nice package, Bob.

Since you work so well in a variety of styles, would like to recommend that you try stacked micarta for the handle some time....the natural looks like leather, but does not compress or rot.

Best Regards,

Thanks all and thank you Steven. I completely understand what you're saying. I have done synthetic material stacked handles in the past and they turned out fine. In my attempt to try to emulate Scagel styled knives it feels to me that it would be like switching ground soy for ground beef. Maybe I'm just a little nostalgic on some things but that's not to say that I wouldn't make a synthetic stacked handle on another styled knife. I have also always enjoyed D'holder knives. With something like that I would use such similar materials.

Leather handles also have a very warm and comfortable feel to them.

All knives need care in one way or another once in a while. Leather just needs a little love and some bees wax.

Thanks again.

As does micarta.:)

I have had bad luck with leather handles until I stopped using them and lacquered them......they look good as new that way!

The reason I like the micarta is that it looks so much like leather, but it's very tough and forgiving....different strokes for different folks.

Again, great work(as always)

Beautiful knife and sheath, I love Scagel style knives and this one definitely qualifies as an excellent representation of Scagels work.
